Na na naa na...na na naa na...

Despite his game winning run today, and a home run that wasn't called as such, I'm happy to report one Gabe Gross has been traded to the Tampa Bay (devil) Rays for pitching prospect Josh Butler.

I'm not upset by this...I don't care what the return was. Nice work, Doug Melvin!

Oh yeah, the Brewers won one helluva game today, 9-8 in 12 innings. More on that (with some pictures) later, probably.

I would have been happy with a 1975 Brewer media guide! I know one of our regular posters (Aaron) will be heart-broken that Gross is no longer a Brewer but there really is no room for him especially when Cameron joins the team.

Gross was a solid back up outfielder. I thought the return value would've been greater. I find it hard to believe that the Rays were the only team interested in Gross's services.

Is our farm system short on young pitching prospects? Nothing against Butler, but it seams like we could have dealt for a better prospect or at least two Butler's.

Ahh Rob. You underestimate me. I'm happy Gross is gone. The trade was completely necessary, but the return was awful considering the A's were supposedly offering a better prospect. We'll be lucky if Butler is durable enough to make it to the bigs. Everything I've read so far suggests, he's got great stuff, but he'll never make it as a starter as his velocity dropped considerably over a much shorter NCAA season for San Diego.

Decent trade...could have been better, but could have been worse. Hard to deal a bench OF when the whole league knows you have to make a move and get a great return back. Butler is injury prone, but has great stuff and could still put it together.

Tonight's game was painful....we had the lead-off man get on what, 7 times and the crew still can't plate a run?
