Time To Sack Up

By South Side Rob

With CC Sabathia pitching in game one against that roaming stink coming up south of the boarder, Monday's game becomes a "no excuse" game. I don't want to hear any excuses should we lose this game. We have clearly the best pitcher in the game right now going for us. He's done everything and then some since he's arrived. Even if this is the start he gets touched up a bit, I expect the Brewer offense to sack up and cover for the pitcher who has covered them since day one.

This weekend, I don't know what happened, but this team played terribly. For 7 straight since the All-Star game, this team played together and stayed within striking range. Friday, they looked flat and Yost tried to extend Parra longer than he should of. I didn't see Saturday or Sunday's contest but I read about Yost sill waiting for one more pitch to get out of that 7-run 5th inning that Suppan gave up. While our manager would never admit it, I feel that Yost, as well as the players looked past the Astros and it cost them the series. Shame on all of them.

The Brewers have now lost 2-straight series at home which more than cancels out their 3-game sweep in San Francisco and their 4-game sweep in St. Louis. You have to win your home series. Period. NO EXCUSES.

I'll be at Tuesday's game and I will be in no mood to deal with any idiot Cub fans. I have 3 other friends that will have to hold me back but I'm not playing around with these clowns. On Sunday, I celebrated a birthday for a relative that lives south of civilization and I was absolutely embarrassed by the fact that the Brewers blew a lead to lose and the Cubs overcame a 5-0 deficit to take down the Marlins 9-6. Just think about all the crap I had to listen to before getting the "you know what" out of there.

My only wager on this series is with my nephew from Chicago. Dinner for 4 is on the line. Loser buys in the city that wins this series. As you can see, I'm risking more than my Cub-bleeding nephew. A split in the series cancels the bet. If I didn't believe the Brewers are the better team (right now), I would have never made the bet...

PS: Jay Mariotti and Phil Rogers better not be in this town and if they are, then, the Brewers need to sweep because I've had enough of the Milwaukee insults they have been dishing out in the Chicago Sun Times and ESPN...
