You know it's an All-Star Game when...

In the spirit of Jeff Foxworthy's "You might be a redneck if..." bit, I present to you the following one-liners for:

"You know it's an All-Star Game when..."

  • When Ryan Braun is batting 7th in the batting order, you know it's an All-Star Game.
  • When a pair of starting battery-mates are a Brewer and a Cub, you know it's an All-Star Game.
  • When you have two guys who have hit over 500 home runs in their career hitting back-to-back, you know it's an All-Star Game.
  • When the manager has a 39-57 record with his regular team and still gets to manage this group of superstars, you know it's an All-Star Game.
  • When the starting nine hitters come from eight different teams, you know it's an All-Star Game.
  • When those nine hitters could very easily have come from nine different teams (like they should have because Fukudome has no business starting this game), you know it's an All-Star Game.
  • When Albert Pujols is DHing for Ben Sheets, you know it's an All-Star Game.
  • When CC Sabathia and Rich Harden can't play because they haven't had enough service time in their new leagues after being traded in early July, you know it's an All-Star Game.
  • When the manager of the Rockies could come to the mound to pull a Brewer and would be met at said mound by a Cub, Astro, Phillie, Marlin and Brave, you know it's an All-Star Game.

I've got a few more up my sleeve, but I'd like to hear what you guys can come up with!

Come on, Brewer Nation...let your creative side through for a bit!

When South Side Rob complains about a team's selection process, you know it's an All-Star Game

I REALLY HATE this crap that each team must be represented with a player . Im sure that Pat Burrell and Jermaine Dye as well as others feel the EXACT same way . The fan voting kinda sucks also , every year there's some player(s) that has no business being there but is because of the voting . And what makes it even worse is that the player actually shows up there to play , even if he is hurt , what a joke . Soriano is a prime example or how bout Fukudome . How in the blue hell is he starting ??????? Im thinking that when making decisions on Hall-of-fame , they MUST throw out all-star appearances . If you are popular no matter what your stats are , you get in , again , a joke . I want to see a Fun game with players that deserve to be there and dont care about the outcome , but that will never happen , not in my lifetime . And someone please tell me how a game that means nothing suddenly decides the home field of the World Series ???? Thats the biggest joke of all . It should be whomever gets to the series and has the better record gets home field , Man Selig screwed up . And I was at the all-star game here . Rant is over .
