Here at Brewer Nation, we care about our readers. We want everyone to be able to participate in all things Brewers and that includes attendance at a certain “hot ticket” event.
So let me ask you the follow question…
Do any of these situations apply to you?
-No luck in the lottery?
-Can’t afford resale upcharges?
-Couldn’t (or wouldn’t) tailgate in “Arctic” conditions?
-Need one to complete your party?
Then do I have a deal for you!
For a limited time only, I’m offering you the chance to win a ticket to Opening Day on March 31st at Miller Park when the Milwaukee Brewers host the Atlanta Braves.
You might be saying to yourself, “I never win anything” or “He’ll never pick me.” Maybe. But that shouldn’t prevent you from trying anyway because you never know!
Okay…enough with the “sales” speak. In all seriousness, I was fortunate enough to be selected in the Opening ticket lottery and bought extra ticket so I could give away.
Here are the specifics on how I’m doing that.
- You have to be able to attend Opening Day on March 31, 2014 at Miller Park. It’d be pretty crappy if you won the ticket, knowing you can’t attend.
- You have to be willing to meet me on the Miller Park grounds on March 31st for the ticket hand off. I require this because I’m not going to let someone make money off of my generosity by reselling the ticket. I’ll be there early enough that day for even the brightest-eyed and bushiest-tailed fan.
- You have to submit a valid, correct entry by March 27th based on the contest specifics which follow.
Here’s how to enter. Email your correct entry to email@example.com.
Answer these questions:
- What number is Tyler Thornburg wearing in camp this year?
- When is the new Wall of Honor scheduled to unveiled?
- Where will the new Bob Uecker statue be located?
- Who won the Fans Choice bobblehead vote?
- What rank did my blog receive on the Top 100 MLB.com blogs ranking?
- Since we’re entering Miller Park’s 14th season, who wore #14 during its inaugural season?
- How many 2014 regular season Brewers games are not scheduled to be televised?
- Against whom are this year’s late March exhibition games scheduled?
- How many Brewers were listed among MLB Network’s Top 100 Players Right Now entering 2014?
- From which team was Wei-Chung Wang taken in the Rule V Draft?

Event will Mark the First Availability of Brewers Single Game Tickets and Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy
Two of the most anticipated annual “signs of summer” are coming together to form the perfect storm for Brewers fans, and it’s all happening in just a few short weeks at Miller Park.
The Milwaukee Brewers have set Saturday, March 1 as the date for this year’s Arctic Tailgate party, which marks the beginning of individual ticket sales at Miller Park. Individual game tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. that day. This is the eighth year that the Arctic Tailgate will mark the start of individual ticket sales.
New this year, campers in line at Miller Park will have a chance to warm up in a Leinenkugel’s heated tent. The tent will be open
both Thursday and Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
To celebrate the coming of summer, the first statewide serving of Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy will be available to a limited number of guests, 21 and older (NOTE: Fans must be in line at 5 pm on
either Thursday or Friday to receive a wristband redeemable for one complimentary Leinenkugel products). Also, Pepsi products will be available both nights for those under 21.
In addition, the Leinenkugel’s Airstream will make an appearance at Miller Park, along with visits on
Thursday and Friday from Dick Leinenkugel of the famous brewing family.
As the largest summer seasonal craft beer, Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy has developed a major league following since its debut in 2007. With increasing growth year over year, Summer Shandy has become synonymous with summer and America’s pastime.
On Saturday morning (March 1), the Box Office windows will open at 9 am for the sale of individual game tickets. Grebe’s Bakery, a new partner for the Brewers this year, will get the fun started with complimentary donuts for those in line. The Klement’s Famous Racing Sausages, Bernie Brewer and Brewers alumni players will be on hand to greet fans all morning. The first 2,000 fans in line will receive a hot dog and soda, compliments of Klement’s, Pepsi and Sportservice, as well as an Arctic Tailgate t-shirt. FOX Sports Wisconsin and 620 WTMJ will both serve as media sponsors, and the FOX Sports Wisconsin Girls will be in attendance on Saturday.
Please note the following safety regulations for the Arctic Tailgate. Participants will not be permitted to set up camp prior to noon on
Thursday Friday, February 2728. No hand-made or hand-built shelters shall be permitted. No shelters made of cardboard or wood will be permitted. Shelters with a footprint greater than 100 square feet are not permitted unless otherwise approved by the Brewers. Miller Park power sources are not available for public use and gas generators are not permitted on the property. Only State-Approved gas/propane heating/grilling units with fuel-valve turn-offs and self-contained charcoal/wood units are permitted; provided, however, that they must be a minimum distance of 25 feet from the building or shelters. Activity and items permitted on the premises are subject to the approval of the Brewers. The Brewers reserve the right to remove any shelter, items, or individuals from the property.
Only a very limited number of tickets for Opening Day will be available at this event (note: the Miller Park Box Office will be the only place where fans will be able to purchase individual Opening Day tickets on March 1; no phone or online orders will be accepted). Each fan will be limited to a maximum of four tickets for Opening Day, based on availability. Meanwhile, through Monday, February 17, fans can visit Brewers.com and register for the chance to be selected in an Opening Day opportunity to purchase up to four tickets to Opening Day and up to eight tickets to weekend games at Miller Park this season.
Tickets for individual Brewers home games can be purchased starting Saturday, March 1 at 9 a.m. at the Miller Park Box Office, at Brewers.com or by calling (414) 902-4000 (or 800-933-7890).
Demand-based pricing, which provides the best ticket value for fans, will return for all Brewers games this season. The pricing will be implemented in almost all of the Miller Park seating categories (excluding All-Inclusive Areas, Suites, and the Uecker Seats).
Beginning with the first day of individual game sales (set for Saturday, March 1), pricing for all 81 games is subject to change. Fans should be reminded that they will usually receive the lowest price when they purchase their seats early. Fans will be able to purchase tickets at the Ticket Office or by visiting Brewers.com, selecting the “Tickets” tab and then clicking on the Single Game Tickets link. For more information regarding demand-based pricing by specific games, fans can visit Brewers.com/tickets.
Fans will also be able to purchase parking passes in advance for all home dates at Miller Park including Opening Day. All parking prices remain the same from last season. This week’s snow had Brewers fans thinking of summer as hundreds lined up outside of Miller Park for the “Arctic Tailgate” to be among the first to purchase individual tickets to Brewers games for 2013.
As of 3 pm, the Brewers have sold a total of 87,000 tickets today, one of the highest totals for a single day in team history.
In addition, the Club announced that Opening Day (April 1 versus the Rockies) is sold out, except for a limited number of tickets that remain as part of Season Seat packages (see below). Three additional games have limited inventory remaining: Saturday, April 20 versus the Cubs; Sunday, May 26 against the Pirates; and Sunday, June 23 versus the Braves.
“As we have said for several years now, we encourage everyone to purchase their tickets in advance,” said Brewers Chief Operating Officer Rick Schlesinger. “Inventory for many of our summer games will sell quickly, and with demand-based pricing, the best deals will typically come for those who buy early.”
Fans still have the opportunity to obtain tickets to the Home Opener and all of the high demand games with the purchase of a partial or full Season Seat plan. Information on Season Seat plans is available by calling 414-902-HITS.
As part of today’s Arctic Tailgate activities, the first 2,000 fans at the Box Office received a free Arctic Tailgate t-shirt, a Klement’s hot dog and a Pepsi.
Tickets remain on sale at the Miller Park Box Office, through brewers.com, by phone (414-902-4000) and at all tickets.com outlets.
The Milwaukee Brewers will begin to sell group ticket packages to the general public for all home dates (except Opening Day) beginning this Thursday at 9 a.m. Group orders of 25 or more tickets have prices starting as low as $9 per person and can be ordered by calling the group sales department at 414-902-GRPS (4777).
Groups at Miller Park enjoy the advantage of locking in their seating locations before individual tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, February 23 while saving on service charges that often apply to individual ticket purchases. Additional benefits for group outings at Miller Park include name recognition on the Miller Park scoreboard, block seating in a preferred location, no per ticket handling fees and up to four tickets to a future game for the group leader.
The 2013 schedule highlights 41 home dates which groups can book outings at significant savings. For select games, these savings range up to 79% off the regular ticket prices. In addition, ticket prices start as low as $5 per person for groups of 50 or more. Plus, groups can catch some of the hottest games of the season against the rival Chicago Cubs at non-Marquee prices with savings up to 67% off individual ticket prices for select games.
Prices for All-Inclusive Areas range from $48-$112 per person. These areas include the brand new Miller Lite Party Deck, located just above the right field bleachers; the ATI Club and the Harley-Davidson Deck, both areas featuring new menus; the Gehl Club, named one of the Top 5 luxury areas in all of baseball by Forbes Travel Guide; the newly remodeled Dew Deck, featuring a 25-foot high climbing wall; and the Toyota Territory – known for the most comfortable seats in the ballpark!
Also available are 20-person and 30-person Party Suites available for single game rental, which offer open-air seating, a private lounge that features a wet bar and in-house flat panel HD televisions, as well as complete food and beverage service from DNC Sportservice.
Key large group days for 2013 are Weather Day (April 18 vs. San Francisco), Girl Scout Night (June 7 vs. Philadelphia), Little League Night (June 25 vs. Chicago-NL), Boy Scout Night (July 22 vs. San Diego) and American Legion Day (August 18 vs. Cincinnati).
Groups can make a purchase by calling the Brewers group sales department at 414-902-GRPS (4777) or by visiting Brewers.com/groups, beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 7.
After weeks and months of “Stay Tuned!” responses from the Brewers official social media accounts, today they finally confirmed the date of the 2013 Arctic Tailgate. I say “confirmed” as opposed to “revealed” because common sense dictated the date choice this year.

This is the seventh year that the “Arctic Tailgate” party will mark the start of individual ticket sales.
